Leah Lamm | Brown County Airbnb Superhost

I’m Leah Lamm, a Brown County Airbnb Superhost and Vrbo Premier Host, and the owner of My Brown County Vacation a curated collection of boutique vacation rentals in Brown County, Indiana.

Whether you’re escaping to the boho charm of Helmsburg Homestead or stepping back in time at the 1891 Schoolhouse Inn, I personally care for each stay and every guest experience from booking to checkout.

Each property is designed with comfort, character, and thoughtful detail so you can feel at home while exploring Nashville, Brown County State Park, Bloomington, and the scenic backroads that make this corner of Indiana so special.

Managing these homes is deeply personal to me. This isn’t just a business—it’s my home, my backyard, and my community. I’ve poured my heart into each space, adding vintage touches, handcrafted décor, and meaningful amenities that help you slow down, reconnect, and enjoy life’s simple joys.

When you stay with me, you’re not just reserving a vacation rental—you’re choosing a locally owned, personally managed experience designed with care.

I hope you’ll enjoy “Staying in Class” at the Schoolhouse, and I’d love for you to experience the quiet beauty of the Homestead—with me and my flock of chickens too.

What Sets My Brown County Vacation Apart

As an owner-host, I’m personally involved in every detail of each stay. From preparing each home to sharing trusted local recommendations, nothing is outsourced or impersonal.

When you book with me, you can expect:

• Thoughtfully curated spaces — not generic vacation rentals

• Clear communication and fast, personal support

• Local insight into Nashville, Brown County State Park, Bloomington, and nearby day trips

• Homes designed for comfort, connection, and memorable experiences

• A direct-booking option that keeps your experience simple, transparent, and fee-conscious

My goal is simple: to provide a stay that feels intentional, welcoming, and worth returning to year after year.

The Heart Behind the Hospitality

The way I host today is rooted in something deeply personal. This journey began after a season of profound personal loss—my husband and my father both passed away within six months of each other. Returning to Indiana to be closer to family brought comfort. At the same time, I turned to something I’ve always known: hospitality.

Eight years ago, I purchased the historic 1891 Schoolhouse in the heart of Brown County and lovingly restored it into a charming and successful vacation rental. My dad taught me how to be a gracious host. My husband—my travel partner for more than 30 years—taught me how to be a thoughtful, gracious guest. That combination shapes every detail I’ve poured into My Brown County Vacation.

Their spirit lives on in the way I welcome guests, prepare each home, and think about the experience from arrival to departure. What began as a single restored schoolhouse has now grown into a second property, Helmsburg Homestead—a peaceful five-acre retreat designed for friends, families, and fellow travelers seeking a true escape.

When you stay with me, you’re not simply reserving a vacation rental—you’re stepping into a story built on care, intentional hospitality, and a deep appreciation for this special corner of Indiana.

It is my privilege to share Brown County with you, and my commitment to ensure your stay feels comfortable, memorable, and genuinely personal.

Commitment to Hospitality

Your experience matters deeply to me. If something doesn’t feel right, please call or text me at 812-947-8989. I believe in addressing concerns personally and promptly so your stay remains restful and enjoyable.

My mission is simple: to provide a safe, thoughtfully prepared stay you’ll remember—and hopefully return to year after year. If your experience has been meaningful, your kind words and reviews help other travelers discover this special corner of Indiana, and they truly mean the world to me.

Stay Close. Stay Local. Stay with Us

Brown County is more than a destination—it’s an experience rooted in art, nature, music, and quiet beauty. When you stay at the Schoolhouse or the Homestead, you’re positioned perfectly to explore the very best of this region.

  • Brown County State Park – sweeping overlooks, hiking, and horseback trails
  • Yellowwood State Forest – peaceful backcountry trails and wildlife
  • Brown County Music Center – nationally touring artists in an intimate venue
  • Indiana University – an easy drive to Bloomington
  • Stone Head Nature Preserve – one of my favorite local hiking escapes

In addition, you’ll be minutes away from charming art galleries, boutique shops, and incredible dining. If you’re looking for more guidance as you plan your itinerary, I highly recommend visiting BrownCounty.com or stopping by the Visitors Center at 211 South Van Buren Street for up-to-date info on local events and experiences.

Naturally, each season in Brown County offers something special—from fiery fall foliage to quiet winter snowfalls, spring wildflowers, and golden summer sunsets. Whether you’re after adventure or a front-porch nap, this is a place to slow down and breathe deeply.

Whether you’re visiting for a celebration, a concert weekend, university events, or simply a quiet retreat in the woods, I would be honored to host you. Brown County has a way of welcoming people back again and again—and I hope it does the same for you.
